On October 28th, 2025, Jill Santopolo joined Mauricio Matiz, CFF communications director, to discuss her journey from Columbia undergraduate to the release, in 2017, of her first book, The Light We Lost.
Jill and Mauricio enjoyed a wide-ranging conversation, starting at her Shakespeare class in Philosophy Hall on 9/11 to Lampedusa, Italy, an island south of Sicily that is featured in her fifth and recent book, The Love We Found, a sequel to her best-selling debut.
